The party bus is a new shuttle that provides soldiers with an affordable way to party in downtown Austin without having to worry about transportation back to Fort Hood. Launched in November 2009, the party bus was implemented to reduce the risks of drunk driving among soldiers traveling from 6th Street (Austin) to Fort Hood.
